Supplement in bee nutrition.
VAROGEL is a modern type of slow-evaporating gel, specially designed so that it has a precisely determined release time of the active substance - THYMOL.
The main feature of this gel is its adaptation to the external temperature so that the evaporation of the active substance - THYMOL is identical at both lower and high temperatures. The gel is designed to gradually disappear, releasing the correct dose of thymol crystals that evaporate and leave their characteristic odor in the hive.
VAROGEL can be applied in several periods during the year. It can be applied before honey harvest, in early spring, in order to reduce the varroa which remained in the hive during the winter to a minimum, and in that way to prepare the colony for foraging.
During this period, it is enough to apply one bag of Varogel per hive.
For autumn treatment against varroa it is necessary to apply two bags per hive.
We put the first bag into the hive and its duration is between 10-14 days, depending on the outside temperature.
After that, we add another bag, which remains in the hive for a longer period of time, up to 3 weeks, until the gel evaporates completely from the hive, to cover the cycle of 21 days of bee hatching.
For swarms and nuclei, it is sufficient to apply half a bag of Varogel twice following the same procedure.
The gel can be used when the outside temperature does not exceed 35 ° C. Varogel proved to be effective even at low temperatures. It was tested at temperatures between 10-20 ° C, in early spring, where a prolonged effect of thymol evaporation in the hive was observed.
VAROGEL is produced and packaged in specially designed, three-layer, aluminum bags, which are precisely defined in dimensions, so that they can fit between the frame holders and the cover board in each hive.
VAROGEL is very easy to use. For proper use, you need a scalpel, which will remove the back or front of the Varogel bag. In case the gel remains on a piece of removed bag, leave it next to the bag inside the hive.
The put the open bag in the back part of the hive, onto the frame holders. In order to enable proper evaporation of the gel, it is necessary to provide a minimum of 5-10 mm distance between the open bag and the hive cover board. One bag of Varogel contains 12 g of the active substance-THYMOL, peppermint essential oil, eucalyptus essential oil.
APIOXAL STRIPS is one of the most effective product in the fight against varroa in eco-beekeeping, organic beekeeping and convectional beekeeping practiced by IPM (Integrated Pest Management), with rotating treatment schedules.
APIOXAL STRIPS are cellulose strips submerged in a mixture of the corresponding high purity oxalic acid ratio over 99.6% and vegetable, nutritional glycerin purity over 98.5%.
APIOXAL STRIPS is contact product. When bees passes over the cellulose strips, the oxalic acid with which the strips are impregnated, burns the varroa that is attached to its body. Varroa does not tolerate such an acidic environment, and falls from the bee.
The success of this treatment is based also on glycerin, which has the role of slowing the sublimation of oxalic acid from the strips due to its density and characteristic of very heavy evaporation. In this way, we control and significantly slow down the rate of release of oxalic acid, even over 30 days.
In this way we are covering full cycle of the brood in one treatment, unlike some other products that requires 3, 4 or more repetitions to achieve the desired result for the same period of time.
APIOXAL STRIPS is placed by taking the strip in the middle and bending in the this shape „П“ and placed over the frame to hang on both sides. Set the strips as in the picture, on 2. 4. 6. and 8. frame in the hive. In the summer when the beehive is strongest add a maximum of 4 strips per hive.
During the spring and autumn period, the number of strips adjusted to the strength of bee society, optimally one strip covers two streets of bees.
In the part of the hive densely possessed by bees on every other frame place a strip. The position of the strips in which we place them should always be inside or as close as possible to the broad, because in the broad there is always the largest number of varroa.
We can also place them around the edge of the broad so that we do not get an empty zone in the laying eag of the beequeen.
The effect of the strips is depending on the period of the year when its put in beehive up to 30 days. As long as the strips are added in late autumn, it is desirable to take them out before the bees form winter circle.
A normal occurrence is that bees nibble on strips. During the summer in extremely strong societies, if the bees bite the strips before a period of 30 days, they need to be added again. APIOXAL STRIPS is best applied from spring and added several times during the year, with a minimum interval of 45 days.
VAROGUARD is a completely natural supplement and does not contain pesticides or heavy metals.
VAROGUARD consists of extracted acids from hops as an active substance, essential oil of lemon balm, essential oil of eucalyptus, which also have a repellent effect on varroa and invert sugar syrup, so that due to its completely natural composition it can be used throughout the year and at times when it is most important to enable the proper and rapid development of the bee colony without disturbing the varroa.
VAROGUARD is applied only once, 100 ml per hive, by pouring into the feeder. VAROGUARD should not be mixed with other syrups.
Since inverted sugar syrup is the carrier of active substances, bees consume this small amount of syrup very quickly, and due to their social behavior in food distribution, each bee in the hive receives a certain amount of the active substance.
Once the active substances enter the bee lymph, they remain there for a long time. They do not have any side effect on the bee, but even the smallest amount of the active substance in bee lymph affects varroa existing inside the bee, causing it to fall off the bee.
VAROGUARD treatment was performed on about 1000 hives in the fall and spring, without any side effects on the bees, the queen and the development of the colony. The testing was performed on the numerous apiaries of our professional beekeepers, including Janos Balint from Zrenjanin, Savo Tadic from Stanisic, beekeeping professor at the Agricultural College Sasa Milosavljevic from Prokuplje, Milos Bankovic from Svrljig, Jovan Zec from Leskovac, and others.
In addition to summer testing against varroa, we have also run a test for winter treatment against varroa. In November 2019, we made cakes weighing 500 g with the same concentration of active substances found in VAROGUARD.
The cakes were added during the period when oxalic acid treatment was performed. Immediately after the addition of the cake, varroa that remained on the bee and which multiplied in late autumn, also began to decline in significant numbers, over a longer period of time.
BEEFORS is an ideally balanced Vitamin-Mineral Amino Acid Premix that is used as a supplement to bee feeding.
BEEFORS is composed of precisely defined micro elements that are most needed by worker bees to boost bee immune system and extend bee lifespan, as well as increased brooding, which also contributes to the strengthening of the bee colony.
Due to its composition, Beefors compensates for the lack of vitamins, minerals, and amino acids in non-foraging periods, and increases the resistance to stressful conditions of the bee colony, such as infestations by ecto and eno parasites, migration, and diseases.
It is recommended to use Beefors during the developmental feeding of the bee colony to enhance its preparation for honey harvest, and in the non-foraging period to supplement all the necessary natural substances.
To facilitate overwintering of the bee colony and maintain high levels of immunity during the winter, it is recommended to add BEEFORS to the cakes for winter bee feeding.
Method of use and dosage
1ml per one liter of syrup or sugar cake at each feeding of the company. Do not exceed the recommended doses.
Store in a cool and dark place at temperatures up to 25 degrees Celsius, out of reach of children.
Do not expose to strong sunlight. Not for human use.
Cobalt chloride solution is a very successful supplement in bee feeding.
It increases the carrying capacity of the queen by 20-30% and it is recommended to add it to bee food when we need accelerated development of the colony or when a reduced carrying capacity of the queen is noticed. 1L of solution contains 24g of cobalt chloride.
Dosage and use:
Add 1 ml of cobalt to 1 liter of syrup or 1 kg of bee cake.
In combination with Beefors, Cobalt significantly accelerates bee growth and increases their immunity.
Store in a cool and dark place at temperatures up to 25 degrees Celsius, out of reach of children. Not for human use.
is a supplement that strengthens the intestinal system of bees preventing Nosema.
APINOZ is added to syrup, cakes or water. The recommended periods of treatment are early spring or autumn.
Dosage and use:
For prevention, add 2 ml per liter of sugar syrup or a kilogram of sugar cakes.
In case of diarrhea, add 4 ml per liter of sugar syrup or a kilogram of sugar cakes, and it can be treated by spraying over bees and frames with a one percent solution of APINOZ dissolved in water, for faster intake.
Store in a cool and dark place at temperatures up to 25 degrees Celsius, out of reach of children. Not for human use.
Thymol is a powerful all-natural remedy used in beekeeping to control and prevent varroa, Nosema, chalkbrood as well as for hive disinfection.
Thymol is one of the organic agents used in varroa treatment according to EU laws.
Thymol introduced into the hive in appropriate quantities does not leave any residues in bee products, and thymol itself is part of certain types of honey.
Thymol has a strong and long-lasting odor which prevents varroa mites from spreading thus reducing the varroa population in the hive. The odor also repels new varroa in the surrounding area from entering the hive.
For autumn treatment of bees against varroa.
Store in a dry, dark and cool place.
Chemicals should be disposed of in accordance with the relevant regulations of the Republic of Serbia.
EM probiotic for bees is an organic product intended to achieve and maintain microbiological balance within the bee organism and in its surroundings.
Studies of the intestinal microbiome in honey bees conducted to date show that EM probiotic affects the nutrition and growth of bees, as well as their endocrine, immune function and resistance to pathogens. Microbial disorders can lead to a weakening of the general condition and resistance of bees.
EM probiotic for bees prevents the survival of "bad" microbes not only in the surrounding area but also inside the bee bodies thus helping bees to cope with various challenges.
It also helps bees process various nutrients and toxins. EM relieves the bees’ metabolism by helping enzymes produced by microorganisms from EM to break down and ferment nutrients. Metabolites improve the cellular functions in bees at all levels.
EM probiotic for bees has a proven stimulating effect on the bee immune system. EM probiotic for bees is completely safe for bees because it is made of natural compounds and has been proven to have no negative effects in any concentration.
1. Instead of fumigation to calm the bees, it is better to SPRAY the bees with a solution of EM PROBIOTICS FOR BEES every time you work on your apiary. This way you achieve two goals at the same time.
a. Calming your bees in a natural way, without side effects.
b. Spreading good microbes in your hives.
The working solution for spraying should be 5% EM PROBIOTICS FOR BEES in water (* water should be without chlorine, and if you use tap water, leave it in an open container for at least 24-48 hours).
If necessary, you are free to use a higher percentage of EM biotic, especially during the first treatment when the disease appears. Spray the whole hive from the inside, as well as the bees themselves. While spraying on the open bee brood, spray from a distance of more than 30 cm and adjust the sprayer to the smallest possible droplets because the temperature of the brood must be constant.
First, spray the brood thoroughly, because that is the busiest part of the hive. If you are engaged in stationary beekeeping, it is best to spray the entire apiary with EM PROBIOTICS FOR BEES at least twice a year, once at the beginning and once at the end of the season.
2. No matter what type of drinker you use, you can put 2-3% of EM PROBIOTICS FOR BEES in water throughout the season. This way you ensure good water quality for your bees.
3. Add 2.5% EM PROBIOTICS FOR BEES to the sugar syrup. In case of illness, increase to 5%. More than 5% of EM could change the taste of the syrup, and bees could stop taking it. EM will help bees process sugar syrup with less energy consumption and will spare the bee’s enzyme system. EM can be used in plain and inverted sugar syrup.
4. Put 2.5% EM PROIOTICS FOR BEES in cakes. * Regarding points 3 and 4, please keep the temperature of the medium below 38 ° C (preferably around 30) when mixed with EM PROBIOTICS FOR BEES. Higher temperatures can significantly reduce the efficiency of EM biotic.
The product should be stored at a temperature between 2 and 28 ° C, protected from sunlight. The diluted product should be used within a period of 2-3 days. Syrup and cakes with EM PROBIOTICS FOR BEES are more stable and can last longer than without EM.
Chalkbrood
Based on many years of experience and several experiments, we can say that chalkbrood does not reappear in the hives that have been treated with EM probiotics for bees.
If the disease occurs, we suggest the following protocol: Use sugar syrup with the addition of 5% EM and an aqueous solution with 5% EM (5 treatments over a period of 2 weeks). Put 500 ml of sugar syrup in the feeder every 2-3 days. Spray at the same time (when you spray for the first time, you can use higher concentrations of EM PROBIOTICS FOR BEES depending on the severity of the signs of the disease). The first treatment should be done by spraying each individual frame, while the other four can only be applied on the frame holder. Add 2-3 tablespoons of sugar to the spray solution.
Nosema
From our experience, adding EM PROBIOTICS FOR BEES to sugar syrup, especially in late summer, and constant spraying significantly reduces the possibility of Nosema. There is a connection between the appearance of Nosema and the abundant use of sugar in the diet. By adding EM to syrup and cakes, this problem is very easily kept under control. If Nosema occurs in late winter/early spring, bees should be carefully sprayed with diluted syrup containing about 20% EM PROBIOTICS FOR BEES, but only during a warm, sunny day.
American and European foulbrood
From our experience EM is very effective in preventing AFB. We have several cases of this disease that occur in nearby beehives, but not in those treated with EM, regardless of the fact that somewhere the distance between the beehives was less than 100 meters. Experiences from Argentina show that after 3 treatments of hives infected with AFB solution of EM (every 1-2) days, the signs of the disease disappear, and AFB is kept under control as long as EM is applied regularly (with each change and work with the hive).
Varroosis of honeybees
From our experience EM PROBIOTICS FOR BEES is an excellent addition to the standard treatment of varroa with commercial products. After a two-year period, EM-treated colonies show a 40-50% reduction in Varroa infestation.
An indispensable ingredient when smoking bees with a smoke cannon against bee varroa.
